Isn’t that a weird title? Today, my kid asked for it. I said no at first. I said no because I was in a hurry. I was trying to help get the kids fed and had a lot of work to get to. Right after I said no, I just sat and looked at him. I had disappointed him.
I immediately changed course. I gave him the honey. It made him so happy. Hey said, “Thanks Dad” several times. Then it dawned on me. We say no to the honey in our lives all too often. Sometimes everyday. Too many times our daily lives, “the grind”, get in the way of enjoying what we have. Something as simple as putting a little honey on a biscuit.
Today, I had a little honey a couple of times. I helped my wife with a home project. I moved a conference call back so I could have a nice lunch with my family why they were out of school on break.
I don’t have an Earth shattering recommendation here, but to tell you to have some honey today. Think about the things you say no to everyday. Intentionally say yes to something you’d normally say no to. Trust me, you’ll enjoy it.
Don’t trade your time today, it’s your most valuable resource.
